Portuguese Classes

Brazilian Portuguese for real conversations, not textbook phrases, with an American teacher who lived in Brazil and speaks Portuguese.

You’ve tried apps, maybe even studied for a while, and you still freeze when someone speaks to you? These classes are built to fix that. I lived in Brazil and I know where English speakers usually stumble.

How the classes work
#

Before your first class, you answer a quick questionnaire about your goals, your level, and what you enjoy. I use your answers to prepare every class around you.

  • Private and online. One-on-one on Google Meet.
  • You speak from the first class. Every lesson is built around things you will actually say.
  • Spoken Portuguese, not just written. You learn tô, tá, cê and pra, the way people really say them.
  • Pronunciation coaching. Nasal sounds like ão, bom and com, and the soft d and t sounds, with easy comparisons to English.
  • Material after every class. Notes, slides, flashcards, and short voice-note homework you can send to a real person.
  • Explained in English, practiced in Portuguese.

What a 1-hour class looks like

  1. Welcome: we chat about your day, in Portuguese.
  2. Conversation: you speak, I listen and help with new words.
  3. Main topic: we learn something useful, like travel, family, or everyday life.
  4. Practice: we use the new vocabulary in role-plays and real situations.
  5. Wrap-up: I give you feedback and your homework.

  • It’s a full class, just like the regular ones.
  • I assess your level and learn about your goals.
  • You try my teaching style.
  • At the end, I tell you what we can work on from here.
  • If you continue with the 4-class pack, the trial counts toward your payment. You only pay $[REMAINING] more.
